Friends,
Like many of you, I am tired of candidates who appear to be running only to serve their own career interests.
Since the beginning of my campaign, I have been running as an advocate for our schools and families. But when I learned that public service in our state comes with a retirement package, something didn't sit well with me.
If you haven't already heard, during a candidate forum last Thursday I committed publicly that if elected, I will forfeit the pension that comes with being a State Senator.
I am pursuing this office to fight for our schools and families, not to build a safe, insulated career in politics. As our state faces a large education funding challenge in the upcoming session, our children have the most to lose. My kids attend our public schools. I have real skin in this game.
Will you join me in my quest to bring real leadership to Olympia? The 1st District deserves a Senator rooted in their community – an advocate who understands and represents the unique views of her constituents.
You can follow me on Facebook or Twitter, come out for a Super Saturday doorbelling blitz with friends, and consider making a donation of $300, $150, $75, $50 or whatever you can afford, so I can initiate my campaign's final push to Election Day.
Thank you so much for your support.
Warm Regards,
Mindie
